NYE

The city sucks. Sometimes anyway. Which is why some of us are going camping over new years, from the 30th till the 6th, when we are going to Southbound in Busselton. Anyone interested email me at bodhiflip@gmail.com and I will send you 'The Brief' (photos of the spot, maps etc.)

TWO VERY IMPORTANT DATES!!

Seeing as the Xmas babies are already planning their bday bash on 23 December I thought I'd jump in and do the same...

Please take time to mark in your diaries

1. Your Rights @ Work Rally 30 November - get time off work!!!
2. My birthday picnic 16 December

YR@W COMMUNITY RALLY

Almost a year ago, hundreds of thousands of Australians took to the streets and filled community venues to show their disgust for the Howard Government’s legislation. Ignoring popular opinion, the Government used its Senate majority to ram the laws through parliament.

Since the IR laws came in, wages have gone down while costs like interest rates and petrol keep climbing up. At the same time our job security has been undermined by the new IR laws, which attack the pay and conditions we all rely on.

As we count down to the next election, let's show the Government that we will never forget the human impact of their radical laws. and let's show both sides of politics that Australians will fight for our rights at work.

Members Equity Stadium (Perth Oval) - 310 Pier St, Perth.
Thursday November 30, commencing at 12 noon, WA time.
(If you work for the public sector don't forget you're entitled to the time off... if your manager tries to tell you otherwise remind them of the Premier's Cicular!)
Please arrive at around 11.30am. The rally will be finished by 2pm.
Food, beverage and entertainment will be available.

PICNIC

Hills trip Sat 16 December... details to come...

If you don't come to either of these events you can expect the kind of treatment that miles is receiving in this photo:

How happy is everyone?

According to the global happiness survey, abou
t 3.4 out of 5. Not bad, , but maybe people with computers are happier than those without computers.. if you're not feeling happy though, maybe thats because you are feeling insignificant, which is exactly what you are (hey! not to me, just objectively mate): confirm this by downloading Celestia 1.4.1. and exploring our universe from the comfort of your armchair. But maybe instead of exploring space inside a computer, we should worry about what will happen if computers start taking over that cyberspace and making their own aggressive viruses? How do we fight them? By the look of this crazy animation, they would kick our ass! Especially when we're so stupid the news today, on Thursday November 09, 2006 went like this:

"A man suffered internal burns when he tried to launch a rocket from his bottom on Bonfire Night. Paramedics found the 22-year-old bleeding, with a Black Cat Thunderbolt Rocket lodged inside him, when they attended the scene in Sunderland."

Ooh, the blackcat thunderbolt up the sphincter trick. Is that stupid daily news or what? But there was some good news! Our ever more powerful telescopes just caught a glimpse of god? Guess what he was d
oing...looking straight back at us with his gianormous eye, or, is it just a cool looking galaxy... hmm. I know what the Christians will try to argue, its too good to pass up.

Big telescopes are cool, pretty clever for a bunch of monkeys. We may not have any idea why we are so clever, (we just need to find gods ear and mouth now, so we can ask him) but at least we have a proud history... on this day in 1969 a Jim Morrison was arrested by the FBI after he repeatedly prodded a stewardess. Those were the days when we had real rock stars.

At least nowadays you can get everything you need, apart from real rock stars, and often at the same store.

Not everywhere has such convenience of course. Some people have to stop and pray before taking there chances on the world's most dangerous road.

And thats all I have to say.
